Mekong Capital is a Vietnam-focused Private Equity firm, specializing in consumer driven businesses.

Established in 2001, Mekong Capital has the most extensive private equity track record in Vietnam. Our funds have completed more than 25 true private equity investments, of which 8 have been fully exited and 2 have been partially exited. Mekong Capital manages 3 funds, with a team of around 40 full-time people in our offices in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.

We invest in fast-growing companies, with ambitious expansion plans, and an unwavering commitment to building management teams that will successfully execute on those expansion plans. These companies are typically well-established companies in their sectors, but which typically operate in fragmented and fast growing markets which present attractive growth opportunities.

Mekong Capital’s investee companies are typically among the fastest growing and market leading companies in Vietnam’s consumer-driven sectors such as retail, consumer products and distribution.

Mekong Capital has implemented a comprehensive program for post-investment value creation at its investee companies based on best practices in private equity, change management, leadership development, and executive coaching. Mekong Capital is a pioneer in applying Vision Driven Investing, which involves partnering with our companies to create a shared vision for their future with measurable targets, ensuring that the management team is aligned around that vision, ensuring that a clear plan is developed for achieving the vision, developing detailed KPIs, tracking those KPIs frequently, and working together with our investee companies to identify the root cause whenever the KPIs are not performing as expected. Since implementing Vision Driven Investing in 2009, the net profit growth rates of our investee companies have improved dramatically.
