Senior Associate

1. Job description:
Reporting to the Director of Investment team, the Senior Associate has overall responsibility as follows:
Take full responsibility for existing and potential investee companies,
typically managing up to 4 existing investments;Perform advanced level
analytical and operational activities relating to proposed investments and
existing investments, and assist more senior investment staff in their
responsibilities;
Independently/ proactively identify new opportunities to make an
accomplishment and contribute to Mekong Capital without having been requesting
to do so;Perform comprehensive investment appraisals on companies which are considered a potential investment;
Lead the implementation process for new investments: preparing and negotiating legal agreements, assisting companies to successfully complete a financial audit and to make the necessary legal changes, facilitating the legal due diligence process and solving all other issues that arise during the implementation process;
Provide value-added service and guidance to investee companies:
spending significant time working closely with top management of specific
companies in order for them to identify opportunities for improvement, develop
plans for those improvements and assist them in implementing those improvements;Exiting the investment: preparing an Exit Plan for the investment and independently executing on the plan.
2. Job requirements:
More than 3 years relevant work experience, with preference towards consumer driven industries or private equity;
Capable of performing advanced analytical and operational activities with minimum supervision by a more senior professional;
Strongly results oriented and proven record of leadership;
Be a person fully responsible to produce the expected results;
Take strong stands for his/her commitments, even in the face of disagreement or resistance
Make clear commitments and do not get stopped until what has been committed is accomplished, and on time;
Strong communication skill, specifically the ability to speak before groups, in an assertive and powerful manner; clear and concise communication is a must;
Excellent verbal and written communication skill in both English and Vietnamese.

Location: one positions in Ho Chi Minh City
1. Job description:
Reporting to the Investment Director in general, and to specific Deal Partners for specific companies, the Associate is independently responsible for some projects or aspects of an investment as follows:
Deal generation:
Create access to shortlisted companies for Deal Partners to conduct detailed due diligence;
Assist the Deal Partners with the analysis of new investment opportunities.
Transaction execution:
Draft and contribute significant portions of investment pre-appraisals and appraisals;
Co-lead the implementation process for new investments: assisting Deal Partners on preparing and negotiating legal agreements, assisting companies to successfully complete a financial audit, assisting companies to make the necessary legal changes, facilitating the legal due diligence process and solving problems that arise during the implementation process;
Perform intermediate analytical and operational activities.
Portfolio company management:
Execute value-creation projects to investee companies. This involves
spending significant time working closely with specific companies in order to
help them identify opportunities for improvement, develop plans for those
improvements and assist them in implementing those improvements.
Special projects:
Fulfill on high-level projects assigned by the Investment Director;
Handle communication requests from internal and external sources.

Finance & Accounting (FACT) Consultant
Location: one position in Ho Chi Minh City
1. Job description:
Reporting to the FACT Manager, the FACT Consultant is accountable for the followings:
Pre-investment:
Financial and tax compliance risks:
Identify existing financial reporting and tax compliance risks;Generate clear action plan to eliminate those risks, including all necessary actions required before an investment is completed;Any tax gap must be closed either prior to the completion of investment or within the first 6 months;
Ensure any necessary adjustments or write-offs are done prior to the Fund’s investment or as early as possible in the life of the Fund’s investment;
Ensure the Deal Partners are well aware any finance & accounting issues that need to be handled so that they can include that in the appraisal.
Financial modeling:
Identify key drivers of net profit growth, and ensuring those are captured in the
financial models;Net profit projected in financial models is as reliable as possible, especially insofar as it has impacts on the entry valuation.
Audit process: initial audit is completed on time and meets the highest possible standard of reliability.
Financial management and reporting: identify opportunities to improve financial management and reporting in a way that contributes to the long term objectives.
Post investment
Enhancing financial and accounting capability at investee companies:
investee companies’ finance and accounting department successfully delivers all objectives without relying on Mekong Capital.
Financial management and reporting at investee companies:
Investee companies consistently provide reliable financial info to the Shareholders. We expect it will contribute positively to the valuation at which investor will invest in the company;Actively maintain a list to track any high-risk or other financial reporting issues that need to get handled; ensure the Deal Partners are well informed of those, and that the Deal Partners and FACT team are working together to resolve the issues;Investee companies’ own financial plan is organized around the key drivers of
net profit growth;Manage the working capital in way that maximizes the
net profit;Manage and plan cash flows to ensure sufficient cash to meet both short term and long term obligations;Effective costing system at investee companies to ensure their management aware of the source of their
net profit or loss;Investee companies’ management has accurate info about the company’s financial situation to make well-informed management decisions which empower the company to achieve its net profit target and which is well-aligned with the companies’ long term objectives;All major strategic decisions of investee companies are based on sufficient and reliable background financial information;Investee companies’ internal control system is effective to ensure the reliability of financial data and to protect the company against specific risks that we have identified.
Audit Process: timely and accurate annual audit report for investee companies.
Divestment: empower the success of any divestment.
Reporting and Revaluation
Reliable valuation of the investment in compliance to the Fund’s valuation policies;The basis for valuation is clearly documented and explained in the relevant files;Timely and accurate financial data for quarterly reports is obtained from the investee companies, and submitted to the Communications department according to the reporting template;Obtain accurate monthly
profit and lost summary from the investee companies within agreed timeframe.

HR Officer
Location: one position in Ho Chi Minh City
1. Job description:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, HR Officer is responsible for independently performing Human Resource functions that integrates the disciplines of recruitment, training & development, company corporate culture, performance evaluation, employee relations and other tasks.
2. Job responsibilities:
Updates and monitors the annual and quarterly training plans;
Monitors the spending of the corporate training budget;
Coordinates with Administration Manager to arrange logistics for all the training activities for Mekong Capital;
Bi-annually reviews performance improvement against skills training plan to ensure the effectiveness of the training activities, and measure the learning capabilities for next-step training plans;
Coordinates executive coaching programs with outside coaches, supervising the development and implementation of the training and executive coaching plan;
Organizes the Monthly Communication Forum for Mekong Employees;
Coordinates with other functions (Administration, IT, Compliance, Finance & Accounting, and relevant parties) when an employee stops working at Mekong Capital, including an exit interview held by a relevant HR team member;
Coordinates recruitment activities/processes for Mekong Capital;
Coordinates the orientation to the new employees;
Implements team building events.
