Our Vision

Mekong Capital’s vision has five components which address: what results we will deliver as a private equity firm, what our greatest strength will be that will facilitate us to deliver these results, what kind of team we need to deliver these results, how we will interact with our investee companies, and what impact we will have in Vietnam and beyond.

Mekong Capital’s vision was developed over a 14-day process in the second half of 2009, in which the entire company participated in creating the vision and aligning around the vision. Our internal systems are organized around the achievement of this vision.

Most consistently high investment returns in Asia – We are committed that by 2015 we will achieve the highest percentage of exited investments, over the previous 3 years, at IRRs above 40% of any private equity firm in Asia. Therefore, our returns would be both consistent and high.

Transforming leadership and corporate culture – We believe that corporate culture and leadership are essential components of business success, yet they are often lacking in Vietnam. We are committed to being unusually effective at empowering our investee companies to develop corporate cultures, and leadership teams, which lead to outstanding business results. We also see this as essential to our own success.

An elite team: everyone committed, together unstoppable – We have been building a team in which each member is excited about and committed to the future of Mekong Capital, and to each other, and are working together as a team to achieve our common objectives.

Partnering with companies: creating futures, achieving targets – Our Vision Driven Investing approach involves aligning with investee companies around a shared vision for their future, and partnering together to ensure that they achieve the monthly, annual and long-term targets which will lead to them fulfilling that vision.

Making a big difference in Vietnam and beyond – We are committed that on personal levels, and as an organization, we make a big difference in Vietnam, in the world of private equity, and even beyond Vietnam. In connection with this, we are committed to being a leader in applying sustainability best practices in the private equity world. We are also committed that our Vision Driven Investing approach will make significant contribution to the success of the private equity asset class in emerging markets, or even worldwide.
