Chris Freund - Managing Partner
Chris Freund founded Mekong Capital in 2001 and is Managing Partner. As Managing Partner, Chris is accountable that Mekong Capital achieves its vision, and that each of Mekong Capital's investments are succesful. The senior members of the Investment Team and the Director of Operations report directly to Chris. Chris also leads the exit process, and Deal Partners report to Chris on exit-related deliverables.
Chris is a member of Mekong Capital's Management Committee and internal Investment Recommendation Committee.
Chris Freund has 17 years of direct investment management experience, 14 of which were in Vietnam.
Prior to forming Mekong Capital in 2001, Chris Freund was a Vice President and Portfolio Manager with Templeton Asset Management, Ltd., the emerging markets arm of the Franklin/Templeton Group, for 6 years. He worked for Templeton in Vietnam from early 1995 until mid-1998, where he screened, analyzed, and monitored private equity investments for the Templeton Vietnam Opportunities Fund. Subsequently he worked for Templeton in Singapore from June 1998 to March 2001, where he continued to monitor Templeton's investments in Vietnam, and was involved with new investments in South Korea, Taiwan and Israel, focusing on technology-related sectors.
Chris is also a co-founder and non-executive Director of Navigos Group, owner of VietnamWorks.com, the largest recruitment services firm in Vietnam, which was established in 2001.

Thomas F. Lanyi, CFA - Director
Dr. Thomas Lanyi oversees all pre-investment related activities including deal sourcing, appraisal, and deal implementation in Mekong Capital. The investment team reports directly to him on those activities.
Thomas managed the process of our funds' investments in Masan Food,
Vietnam Australia International Schools, FPT Software,
An Giang Plant Protection, Nam Long Corporation, and
Asia Chemical Corporation.
As a Deal Partner, Thomas is currently accountable for the long-term success of investments in
Mobile World and Nam Long, as well as the exit of our investment in Lac Viet. Thomas has also led several exits for the firm, including Masan Food and Minh Phuc Packaging.
Thomas is a member of Mekong Capital’s internal Management Committee and Investment Recommendation Committee. Thomas joined Mekong Capital in March 2008.
Thomas has 10 years of private equity investment experience, most of which he gained working in Asia. Prior to joining Mekong Capital, Thomas was an Executive Director at Singapore-based Templeton Asset Management Ltd, where he was responsible for strategic listed and unlisted investment opportunities in South East Asia, including Vietnam. |

Truong Dieu Le -
Director of Operations
Truong Dieu Le is the Director of Operations, accountable for empowering the Operations team to achieve extraordinary results. She oversees all activities of the Operations team including Finance & Accounting, Human Resources, Investor Relations, Sustainability, IT and Administration.
Previously, Le was involved in appraising, implementing and managing some investee companies of MEF. Le is a member of Mekong Capital's internal Management Committee. Le joined Mekong Capital in July 2003.
Before joining Mekong Capital, Le worked as Assistant to the General Director of Huy Hoang Garment & Construction Joint Stock Company. Prior to that, she worked in the tax consulting practice of KPMG in Ho Chi Minh City. Prior to that, she was Assistant to the Vice President of the Venetian Blind Company in Montclair, California, where she was involved in inventory management and costing.

Tran Thi Thu Hong - Principal
Tran Thi Thu Hong is the mentor for all of the Hanoi-based Deal Partners, and oversees post investment value creation for companies under the accountability of the Hanoi Deal Partners. This includes ensuring that all of those investee companies set and achieve their targets, both annually and over the lifetime of the investment.
Hong was previously the Deal Partner on Golden Gate,
Venture International and Goldsun, but handed those companies over to Deal Partners that now report to her. Hong successfully led the exit of AA Corporation.
Hong is a member of Mekong Capital's Investment Recommendation Committee. Hong joined Mekong Capital in 2006.
Hong was previously a Business Development Manager of IKEA, where she was in charge of creating a sourcing network in South East Asia, building up supplier’s competence and setting up business strategy. Before that she worked for IBM Indochina as a Procurement and Distribution Specialist. |

Truong Ngoc Phung - Strategic Initiatives Manager
Phung is responsible for ensuring that all of Mekong Capital team members, especially investment team, deliver the expected results and achieve long-term success at Mekong Capital. Phung is responsible for mentoring seven team members in various departments including Investment, General Management and Finance Consulting teams. Phung has been involved in the implementation of
Vision Driven Investing, and partnering with Deal Partners to achieve key deliverables, at a range of Mekong Capital's investee companies. Phung is also Assistant to the Management Committee, and leads certain projects initiated within the Management Committee.

Pham Vu Thanh Giang - Principal
As a Principal, Thanh Giang is a lead Deal Partner in the Ho Chi Minh City investment team, and is a mentor for other members of the Ho Chi Minh City investment team, including other Deal Partners.
As a Deal Partner, Thanh Giang is responsible for long-term success of investments in
Digiworld, Phu Nhuan Jewelry (PNJ), and
Vietnam Australia International School (VAS). Thanh Giang successfully led the exit of International Consumer Products (ICP).
She is also involved in appraising potential investments of Mekong Capital’s funds.
Thanh Giang is a member of Mekong Capital's internal Investment Recommendation Committee. Thanh Giang joined Mekong Capital in January 2007.
Pham Vu Thanh Giang was previously an Account Executive at Aon Vietnam Ltd., a non-life insurance broker, and also a part of the Risk Management Accounts team.

Do Thi Khanh Van, ACCA – Finance Consulting Manager
As a Finance Consulting Manager, Do Thi Khanh Van oversees all finance consulting activities in Mekong Capital, including ensure that the funds’ investee companies meet excellent standards of financial management and reporting.
Khanh Van is directly responsible for finance consulting in Hanoi-based companies including
MK Smart and
FPT. To fulfill that responsibility, Khanh Van works closely to provide coaching and disseminating finance and accounting best practice to team members and to investee companies. She is also involved in doing financial due diligence during appraising potential investment of Mekong Capital’s funds. Khanh Van joined Mekong Capital in September 2008.
Do Thi Khanh Van was previously a manager of the Research Department of FPT Securities, where she was in charge of appraising investment opportunities. Prior to joining FPT Securities, she was a Senior Auditor at Ernst & Young Vietnam for more than four years. |

Ngo Thi Ngoc Anh - Senior Associate
As a Deal Partner, Ngo Thi Ngoc Anh has overall responsibility for the long-term success of investments in
MK Smart, Golden Gate and
FPT Corp. She is also involved in appraising potential investments of Mekong Capital’s funds. Ngoc Anh joined Mekong Capital in September 2007.
Ngo Thi Ngoc Anh was previously a management trainee with British American Tobacco Vietnam. Before that, she worked as a financial analyst with IDG Ventures.

Nguyen Thi Dieu Thuy - Senior Associate
As a Deal Partner, Nguyen Thi Dieu Thuy has overall responsibility for the long-term success of our investments in
Venture International. Dieu Thuy joined Mekong Capital in November 2006.
Nguyen Thi Dieu Thuy was previously a Sales Manager for Vertu, a luxury mobile phone brand, with FPT Distribution Company, where she was in charge of the Hanoi market.

Le Tuan – Senior Associate
As a Deal Partner, Le Tuan is accountable for the long-term success of investments in
Intresco, Traphaco
and Nam Hoa. He is also involved in appraising potential investments of Mekong Capital’s funds. Tuan joined Mekong Capital in February 2009.
Le Tuan previously worked for Macquarie Group in its New York office as an Investment Banking Analyst, where he was involved in a number of M&A and capital raising transactions. He was also part of the team tasked with managing Macquarie’s private equity investments in the U.S.

Hoang Thi Ngan Ha, CFA - Senior Associate
As a Deal Partner, Hoang Thi Ngan Ha has overall responsibility for the long-term success of
An Giang Plant Protection, Asia Chemical Corporation and
Ngo Han Magnet Wire. She is also involved in appraising potential investments of Mekong Capital’s funds.
Hoang Thi Ngan Ha previously worked for Procter & Gamble Asia, Singapore, as Senior Financial Analyst, in which she led several profitability projects as well as business planning and financial analysis. Before that, she worked as Sourcing Associate Manager for Corele group, France.

Le Thi Thai Ha - Senior Associate
Le Thi Thai Ha is involved in value-added projects which lead to the long-term success of
Traphaco, MK Smart, and
FPT. In addition, Thai Ha is also involved in several exits and appraisals of new investment opportunities.
Prior to joining Mekong Capital, Thai Ha was CFO in Lienviet Holdings where she oversaw Finance and Accounting activities.
Before that Thai Ha was a Senior Associate with Indochina Capital Corporation, where she had been involved in numerous investment deals and engaged in all aspects of the investment process. Prior to that, Ha worked for Vietinbank as a loan officer. |

Nguyen Khanh Van, ACCA – Senior Finance Consultant
Nguyen Khanh Van works closely with the funds’ investee companies to ensure that they meet excellent standards of financial management and reporting. She is responsible for finance consulting in
Intresco,
Nam Long,
Mobile World and
Vietnam Australia International School (VAS). Nguyen Khanh Van joined Mekong Capital in September 2009.
Nguyen Khanh Van previously worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers Vietnam for three years as Senior Associate in Audit department and subsequently a Senior Consultant in Advisory department. She was involved in a number of audit engagements regarding manufacturing, service and banking industries. She also performed some financial due diligences and valuation projects for manufacturing clients.
