Pharmacity was established in November 2011 as one of the first cutting-edge retail pharmacies in Vietnam. More importantly, we, Mekong Capital, were excited by their high-performance management team who brought extensive experience to the company and were committed to their vision of creating the most convenient pharmacy chain where customers can fully entrust their health and wellness. Thus, we became their partners in 2019.
Then Pharmacity began to map out key progress indicators, build technology infrastructure, design bonus systems, and so forth. But that’s only part of it. At Mekong Capital, we are really in the game of helping companies define who they are, what they want to be, how they want to be, and ensuring that they embed a value-driven corporate culture early before they scale up.
In the very beginning, Chris Blank, the founder and the CEO, was aware that the key to vigorous growth starts with 'integrity’ and ‘transparency’ in the operation system. Thus, he accepted our invitation to the Vanto training to be a leader for a culture where everyone is a cause in the matter. Since then, the network of conversations has become more open and trustworthy with every team member honoring their words. His stand for workability became one of the driving forces behind the extraordinary success of Vietnam’s first and largest retail pharmacy chain with 538 stores nationwide (as of 31 March 2021).
Visit Pharmacity’s head office in Ho Chi Minh City and the first thing you will see on the wall is a big poster proclaiming its vision and an electronic counter tracking the number of stores the firm has opened toward its expansion goal. And shopping in the stores, you will experience supportive pharmacists who have the outstanding product knowledge and consultation skills.
This together with a strong commitment to provide only credibly sourced products, Pharmacity is expected to continue to lead the convenient pharmacy chain model and is entrusted by customers for their health and wellness. In the future, Pharmacity will expand its network across the country with 1,000 drugstores in Vietnam in 1,000 days running up to November 2021.
