Pharmacity is Vietnam’s second-largest pharmacy retail chain by store count, operating 957 stores nationwide as of mid-2025. The company offers a wide-ranging portfolio that includes prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, health supplements, personal care products, and essential medical supplies, making it a one-stop destination for everyday healthcare needs. 

Since receiving investment from Mekong Capital’s MEF III fund in 2027, Pharmacity has undergone a significant transformation, from a network of just 49 stores to nearly 1,000 locations. This rapid expansion reflects Pharmacity’s unwavering commitment to its vision: becoming the most convenient and trusted pharmacy brand in Vietnam. The company has focused on building a customer-centric model that emphasizes accessibility, authenticity, and quality in healthcare retail.

Pharmacity’s transformation was accelerated by the strategic decision to bring in external leadership with deep industry expertise. This shift enabled the company to fast-track learning, optimize operations, and gain valuable insights that would have taken years to build internally.

CEO Deepanshu Madan shared that Pharmacity had previously lost its strategic direction but is now firmly back on track with a renewed business model. Central to this model is a commitment to ensuring the availability of authentic, high-quality prescription medicines, supported by a transparent supply chain and a nationwide distribution network.

This principle is now the cornerstone of Pharmacity’s mission to deliver trusted healthcare solutions to Vietnamese consumers.

By 2027, Pharmacity aims to broaden its presence within Vietnam’s healthcare ecosystem through the integration of clinic networks, strategic insurance partnerships, and targeted vertical expansion in e-commerce. Leveraging its extensive nationwide footprint, the company also plans to scale its private label offerings and build a branded distribution arm, enhancing both market competitiveness and operational efficiency.
