With more than 20 years of experience in journalism, PR, and communications, he believes great communication does not simply inform; it inspires trust, aligns people with a bigger vision, and drives meaningful change.
Drawn to Mekong Capital’s vision-driven investing approach and the opportunity to amplify stories of entrepreneurial impact that extend far beyond financial returns, Trung joined the firm in September 2025. He oversees the firm’s external and internal communications, enables portfolio companies to communicate their key messages more effectively, guides investee companies on media strategy and crisis management, and ensures Mekong Capital’s messaging remains authentic and resonant in both Vietnamese and global outlets.
Prior to joining Mekong Capital, Trung held several corporate leadership roles, most recently serving as Global PR Director at Vingroup, where he contributed to the international launch of the VinFast brand into multiple overseas markets. He subsequently served as Communications Director for Tam Anh General Hospital Group and VNVC Vaccination System.
Before entering the corporate world, he was Assistant Managing Editor at Zing News, one of Vietnam’s pioneering digital news platforms, where he drove content innovation and audience growth. Earlier, Trung established himself in Vietnam’s top newsrooms, starting as a reporter at Thanh Nien and Tuoi Tre, covering breaking international news and social issues that sharpened his instinct for powerful, authentic storytelling.
