To Thi Thu is a senior investment advisor with nearly 20 years of hands-on experience in mergers and acquisitions, financial due diligence, business valuation, and strategic investment structuring. She has built a distinguished track record advising on complex, high-value transactions across multiple sectors—ranging from real estate, energy, and F&B to logistics, IT, and financial services.
Prior to joining Mekong Capital, Thu was Executive Director at RECOF Vietnam, where she successfully led multiple cross-border M&A transactions connecting Vietnamese companies with foreign investors from Japan, Korea, and other key markets. Her leadership spanned the full lifecycle of deal execution—from investor sourcing, valuation, and due diligence coordination to negotiating share purchase agreements and resolving post-deal challenges.
Thu’s foundational years were spent at Grant Thornton Vietnam, where she rose through the ranks over nearly a decade to become Director of Advisory Services. During this time, she led more than 50 advisory mandates, working with a wide range of clients including Deutsche Bank, Duxton Asset Management, Vietnam–Oman Fund, VinaCapital, Orix, SCG, JFE Steel, and major Vietnamese corporations such as Vingroup and Vinpearl. She has deep expertise in both buy-side and sell-side due diligence, equity and intangible asset valuation, state-owned enterprise equitization, and feasibility studies for market entry and restructuring. She is also known for her ability to lead and coach advisory teams under high-pressure deal environments.
Thu holds an MBA from CFVG and a bachelor’s degree in Corporate Finance from the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City. She has received extensive regional training in M&A advisory, valuation, and capital structuring across Asia-Pacific markets including Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, and the Philippines.
As Deal Execution Principal at Mekong Capital, Thu contributes significant value through her broad network and practical experience in the investment field. She has been a key figure in identifying viable exit options for MEF III portfolio companies, including engaging with potential buyers, managing negotiations, and facilitating the execution of transactions. These exits are an important focus for Mekong Capital, as they support the firm’s ability to deliver outcomes and uphold the trust of its Limited Partners. Thu’s efforts have consistently supported the firm’s goal of achieving effective and timely exits.
