Mekong Capital is set up to empower strong teams of co-founders or companies with already robust management teams to enter their next phase of growth.
Our best investments have been minority investments in growth stage companies with strong teams of co-founders. We prefer to invest in medium to large minority stakes in companies with multiple co-founders, typically our ownership reaches 30-49%, which may accumulate over several tranches.
We seek to invest in companies that have already established positive unit economics, and are ready to scale up at a faster pace or expand their already successful business model into new markets.
As a growth capital investor, we invest into companies that are about to embark on a journey of accelerating growth. Often during this stage, the company will be building out its senior and middle management team, its corporate governance, and its digital infrastructure.
Companies that haven’t yet validated a sustainable and profitable business model, or those that require operational restructuring, are unlikely to be suitable investments for us.
