Official Announcement: Mekong Capital’s logo, information, website and address were illegally used to attract individuals to contribute money for commission via ECC application

Ho Chi Minh City, VIETNAM (10 July 2022) – Mekong Capital reports that our logo, information, website and address were illegally used by a phone application namely ECC to attract money from individuals in Vietnam.

During 7 and 8 July 2022, Mekong Capital’s office in Hanoi received some phone calls and information from some Vietnamese individuals about their investments.

According to the information we received, there is a phone application namely ECC (“ECC app”). This ECC app has illegally used Mekong Capital’s logo to attract individuals to put money in for commission in return. The people who manage this ECC app used a logo similar to that of Mekong Capital in their advertisements to attract individuals. This appeared to have led these individuals to transfer money to them according to a sharing from an individual. The people who manage this ECC app then directed these individuals to Mekong Capital’s offices to withdraw their original contribution as well as the promised commission. These individuals, after being explained that Mekong Capital has no relationship with this application, understood and left.

This announcement hereby is to confirm that Mekong Capital is currently NOT raising capital in Vietnam under any form. Any information about projects under the name of Mekong Capital directly calling for contributions/investments from individual investors in the country is fraud information.

If any individual/organization receives promotional/marketing messages and/or invitations to contribute money via phone application using the name, logo, image, website and/or address of Mekong Capital, please promptly notify the application developer, as well as report to the relevant authority to make sure your interests are best protected.

As for Mekong Capital, the above information has been shared on Mekong’s website as well as our LinkedIn and Facebook official pages. The case was also reported by popular online news portals such as CafeF, CafeBiz, Tin Nhanh Chung Khoan, Nhip Cau Dau Tu. At the same time, we will report to the relevant authority and consider with legal counsels to take actions to protect the copyright and legitimate interests of Mekong Capital.
