Mekong Capital played a pioneering role in bringing transformational coaching to Vietnam. After witnessing Mekong Capital’s culture transformation which began in 2008, by 2009 several of our investee companies at the time (MobileWorld, PNJ, DigiWorld, Nam Long) participated in a 6-month transformational breakthrough program delivered by a subsidiary of Landmark Education. These companies proceeded to build strong cultures which were correlated with their subsequent performance and success. Since then, many of our investees have participated in similar programs. Mekong Capital’s impact on investee companies via a transformation-based approach was highlighted in a 2020 case study, Mekong Capital: Adding Value through Transformation, written by Professor Dr. Gregory C. Unruh, the Arison Professor of Values Leadership at George Mason University, and published in the Thunderbird case study system.
It’s no coincidence that most of our current and past investee companies that have delivered the best growth are typically the same companies that have invested the most time and effort to transform their culture at an organizational level. Some particularly strong models of successful cultural transformations include MobileWorld, PNJ, DigiWorld, F88 and Vua Nem. In each of these cases, the transformation in culture and leadership led to big breakthroughs in business performance.
Here is the story of transformation and leadership breakthroughs of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen, CEO of Vua Nem, written by herself: My transformation in Leadership.
