Vuong Huyen Nga - Chief People Officer of Mekong Capital

It’s always my life purpose, and during my educational journey and career path, I have always strived relentlessly to pursue my passion for people development and creating a positive work environment. With a Master’s degree in Human Resources & Employment Development from the Netherlands, I seek to acquire and apply this knowledge throughout my career.

Having been fortunate to work in a people development field, I started my career in an international education environment – the Hanoi International School – after graduating in 1995. Here, I had the opportunity to interact and engage with many children – future global citizens. Subsequently, I participated in a project with the Ministry of Health in partnership with the European Council, focusing on training and developing healthcare professionals. During my Master’s studies in the Netherlands, I also took part in the student recruitment process, and after graduation, I worked full-time at HAN University – a professional education University, assisting students from Asia in pursuing higher education in the field of Life Sciences, Business Management and many other expertise.

In 2006, I made the decision to return to Vietnam and joined Navigos, a leading company in HR advisory services, marking a significant milestone in my career – being a professional people developer in all aspects which contributed to the successes of many MNCs, international firms and local corporates in Vietnam.

In 16 years from 2006 to 2013, I continued developing myself in the areas of Executive Search, HR advisory, Business advisory, Executive Coach and Business Coach, … being the top country leader of global names such as Odgers Berndtson, RGF, Argyll Scott, and the local reputed group such as VinGroup, TalentNet, EQuest … I established close relationships with colleagues, developed strong network with C-suites and managerial level professionals in different sectors and gained valuable experiences. Until this day, I still maintain contact with my peers in previous companies, and my network in the market is broader and broader every day.

Now I’m with Mekong Capital, I truly feel that it is where I belong and where I want to concentrate on further developing my career. I found my second home here. Each day at Mekong is a joyful experience, as I can live out my passion for personal growth authentically. Furthermore, I feel dedicated and have the opportunity to nurture and develop the human resources in Vietnam at an investment firm like Mekong Capital.

Personally, this job is not just about recruiting individuals, I also care deeply about how I can help employees and the investee companies enhance individuals with full potential. It is a mutually beneficial relationship aimed at sustainable development, contributing not only to the company’s growth but also providing colleagues with chances for joyful work, learning and self-discovery in ways they desire.
