Đỗ Khánh Vân’s career at Mekong Capital perfectly embodies flexible leadership and a spirit of continuous learning and growth. A graduate of Hanoi Institute of Finance and Economics with ACCA certification, Vân initially aspired to become Chief Financial Officer (CFO) after five years at Ernst & Young. However, her encounter with Mekong Capital in 2008 opened up a completely new path for her. Today, as Investment Director, Vân focuses on driving the development of Vietnamese businesses, with a particular emphasis on those prioritizing talent development, consumer protection, and sustainable development.
In her work, Vân not only manages investment projects but also dedicates herself to optimizing the operational systems and management mechanisms of her portfolio companies.
After transitioning from a financial advisory role to a leader, leveraging her solid financial foundation and deep understanding of the entire investment process, Vân has led numerous key projects, including new investments and significant exits in sectors such as food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, and finance. This process has not only been an opportunity for her personal growth but has also allowed her to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and potential of the companies she supports.
Beyond her professional achievements, Vân also sees her work as an opportunity to fulfill her personal mission: to bring positive change to Vietnam by driving business growth, protecting consumers, and advocating for sustainable development. Vân’s leadership and coaching approach emphasizes creating an environment where businesses and communities can grow together. This approach is what made her a core member of Mekong Capital—leading numerous projects that enhance leadership skills, transformation, and communication capabilities, helping portfolio companies achieve results faster and more effectively.
